Jura Beige project: Al Hamra Tower in Kuwait

This award-winning skyscraper located in Kuwait is perhaps one of the most impressive commercial buildings in Kuwait, but also the largest project ever made with Jura Beige limestone from Germany.

The Al Hamra Tower is the tallest building in Kuwait and the 23rd tallest in the world. With a height of 412 meters, this award-winning building presents us with a sculptural office tower, housing a large shopping mall and diverse offices, health club and much more. The Al Hamra building was named one of the best inventions of 2011 by TIME magazine.

This fantastic feat of engineering involved the supply of a massive amount of Jura Beige limestone from Germany. The limestone was used extensively throughout the project, including exterior cladding for the main tower, exterior wall coverings for all surrounding areas, interior flooring, wall coverings, and a lot of stone-work. The Al Hamra Tower is probably the largest project supplied with this type of limestone and it required the involvement of most Jura limestone quarries to make it possible.
